The Wedding

From the day that I started writing music, I’ve had it in my head that I would compose the music for my wedding ceremony. I’m very lucky to have had a fiancée (now wife) that agreed with the idea. It added a substantial layer of pressure to put the music together in addition to planning the wedding, but I’m known for overcomplicating things. Only difference this time is it paid off.

Valentine Rays – The processional is a representation of light intersecting. Jen and I are two very different people, and our wedding was a celebration of how we have built a life together, and as a duo, we are greater than the sum of our parts. The two musical ideas play off each other, creating harmony in a cloud of indeterminate rhythms, heightening as a melody emerges from the cloud.

Always Always – The vows spoken, the rings exchanged, the ceremony complete, it is now time to celebrate! The recessional is absolutely giddy and beaming with joy, zipping the wedding party and guests out into the cocktail hour. Also, a keytar solo.

I’m working on getting all my music onto Bandcamp from Soundcloud (I ran out of free storage…) so more to follow!
